CC - teaching us to talk and read - Just like that!
Who said TV and DVD's are not good for you? You can build on your children's Literacy skills, both at home and at school, by turning on Closed Captions (CC). Start when they are toddlers. I once met a Dutch woman who taught herself English by watching English TV with Dutch subtitles. Research shows that CC can improve the Literacy skills of all children, including those who are experiencing difficulties. Of course if you have a child who is hearing impaired, CC are essential. Note: CC are not so useful in improving Literacy skills when it is live TV. Errors pop up!
